Worship Arts

The Worship Arts Program at VBCI is built with one goal in mind: to fuse together Christian artists, media and technology, and the message of the Gospel in a contemporary, relevant package that will reach society. Students will receive combined training in Biblical Studies and Theology, Music, the Arts, Media and Technology, as well as Ministry Preparation. Opportunities abound for skilled musicians, trained dramatic arts / acting specialists; and others in various fields regarding the arts, media and new technology, both in a Christian and secular setting. If we are to be "salt and light," then we believe that some of the most important areas to affect are music, the arts, drama, media and technology. Here at VCBI, we recognize that preaching the Gospel can occur in many different ways. It's our vision to train artists to be contributing partners in the church.

Program Objectives:

• To teach, equip, and place Christians at the highest industry levels in the arts, music, and multimedia,
• To allow quality, affordable and practical hands-on training in a cutting edge facility,
• To train students in a Christian setting, providing them with the skills necessary to work as a worship leader, musician, church production staff, producer, director, graphic artist, editor, stage manager, screen writer, etc.
• To have a proactive approach to communicate God's Word to the masses via the arts, music, television, print, the Internet, and other multimedia formats.

The Worship Arts Program takes students through all aspects of music, worship, and multimedia production at the highest level and within current industry standards. With our 50,000 square foot modern complex, complete with a worship sanctuary, television production studio, and computer lab, we believe that VBCI produces graduates ready for ministry and secular vocations in the 21st century!

Worship Arts students can also direct the credits earned in the Worship Arts program towards a Theology or Christian Counselling degree.

Worship Arts Certificate (1 Year)

At Victory Bible College we are committed to a lifestyle of worship and fostering it as a reality in the lives of our students. As an extension of this commitment, we are offering a first year certificate in Worship Arts as a solid foundation for a life filled with God's identity and purpose.

With the understanding that we all have different giftings and skill sets, we are presenting our first year students with exciting options. Students may complete their Worship Arts Certificate with either "Worship Arts Music" or "Worship Arts Theory" distinctions.

Students who successfully complete their Worship Arts Certificate in Theory or Music will be eligible to enter either the second year "Diploma in Christian Ministry" or the second year "Worship Art Diploma."

Worship Arts Certificate - Theory

40 Credits

"Worship Arts Certificate - Theory" is designed to help students grow in their understanding of Scripture and its practical application to life. Students in this aspect of the program will develop a disciplined devotional life, and grow in an understanding of his or her unique gifts, also receiving the basics required to be successful in the arts. It also equips the student for effective Christian Ministry in vocational or lay ministry roles. For those who sense the call of God to full-time ministry, it lays the groundwork for further studies.

Worship Arts Certificate - Music

40 Credits

"Worship Arts Certificate - Music" is a full one-year program of studies designed to provide the student the opportunity to survey the Christian arts, while also becoming grounded in foundational studies in God's Word. Along with this, students will receive training in ministry preparation, as well as in creative ministries such as music, worship, drama, dance, and multimedia.

Worship Arts Diploma (2 Year)

40 Credits

Once students have successfully completed the Worship Arts Certificate, they will have the opportunity to further their skills through the 2nd year Worship Arts Diploma Program. The Diploma Program is designed for the student wishing to enter into a vocational ministry as a musician, worship leader, pastor or creative director. Worship Arts is the program of choice for VBCI students who wish to pursue excellence in the arts and also have the opportunity to receive further training in Biblical Studies. A Worship Arts Diploma requires the successful completion of 80 credits, with a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Credits earned in this program are transferable to the Degree Programs.
